A rear stand - what works?

I have a Suzuki SV650 I intend to maintain and have ordered a (PitBull) rear stand. I'd also like to maintain my lady friend's Savage but can't see where a rear stand would engage the swing arm - the muffler would seem to be in the way.

What do you guys do to get the rear in the air pls?
